...on the former President, 'W'.

Picture this:

A Formula 1 race is coming to your city. They are holding a sweepstakes to give one local driver a chance to enter their own car into the race and race alongside the pro's. Your friends try to persuade you to enter the sweepstakes. You do. Lo and behold, you beat the odds and are chosen to be in the race! The big day of the race arrives and you line your 1997 Honda Civic hatchback next to the finely tuned Formula 1 cars. The gun goes off and the other cars dash away from the start line, leaving you and your 110-horse power, rear wheel drive Honda sitting there, amazed at their speed. Needless to say that you lose - embarrassingly. After the race, all of the friends who convinced you to enter the race and mad at you. They feel like you let them down because you didn't win the race.

Sounds silly? A bit ridiculous, even?

That's essentially what we have done with our former President, George W. Bush. We elected a man who was ill-equipped to handle the demands of the presidency and expected him to lead us into prosperity. We elected a C-student, former alcoholic, owner of two failed companies and a man who lost the popular vote but still won the election. A man who did not have the tools to get the job done. Then, we got upset when he lead us into darkness.

We entered the 1997 Honda Civic that is George W. Bush, into the Formula 1 race the is the Presidency of the most powerful nation in the world, then got mad when he fucked up.

It's not his fault, people. He did the best he could with his limited intelligence and narrow world view. The problem comes in the fact that his best was woefully inadequate. He failed in his execution, not in his effort. He may be an incompetent, insensitive, delusional, elitist war monger, but he honestly believed that the decisions that he made were the best ones for America. And that's the sad part.

Would you continue to talk shit about a retarded kid who pissed on the floor?

Would you continue to talk shit about the blind kid on your basketball team who couldn't hit a free throw?

I didn't think so.

It's time to lay off the last president, people. Just be thankful that he is gone, waive goodbye and let's move on to Mr. Obama.

Lol...good job. And that part about the retarded kid almost got me (by the way, people don't say retarded anymore).

"He failed in his execution, not in his effort." Nope. He failed in his effort. Like so many presidents before him, he was completely out of touch with the realities of the majority of people in American, the quickly disappearing middle class. He failed in his effort to do what was best for the majority of the people. Therefore, he failed to live up to one of the tenants of American government.

Granted, he was the owner of two failed companies. But at the end of the day, he was a trustfund baby. It never really mattered how many companies he drove into non-existance. He was taken care of from the second he was conceived.

Granted, he also inhereted alot of issues left behind by the Clinton administration. But at the end of the day, "W" did a whole lot of fucking up, all on his own. Take the war for example...dumb as hell. Period.

And granted, he may have had all sorts of political pressure to run for President. But at the end of the day, he could not have possible believed he had the skills to get the job done. All he had to do in order to see that was to be a tiny bit self-critical.

I agree with that line by Killer Mike. And that is really the whole point. Bush, it seems to me, was so caught up in the ideal democracy, that he never really understood how democracy plays out in reality. Afterall, getting to that level of thinking, understanding that everyone CANNOT just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, work hard, and become "successful", would probably create a situation where he cannot sleep so well at night.

But that's just me.

1. America is still a republic, not a democracy. Bush didn't need the popular vote to win in 2000.

2. Bush was reelected by the people without incident in 2004. This says more about the American people than anything else.

3. Jeb was supposed to run, not George. The Bushes weren't sure how a Jeb's Latino wife and wayward kids would factor in. There's talk Jeb still might make a go for it.

4. Bush probably doesn't believe he's a civic; he probably just blames his pit crew failed him.

5. Most politicians are out of touch with the American people, including the Obama's. Not everyone can wear J. Crew's "reasonably" priced fashions.

6. Americans make fun of others' inadequacies all the time. We hunger to see people fall. Look at the constant coverage of Britney, Lindsay, Bush and countless others. If your life sucks, laugh at someone in a worse situation, at least you're not them. That's why the Obama build up is so scary. It'll be one hell of a fall if he doesn't deliver.

My thoughts at least

1. I'm aware of type of government we have. I am also aware of how the voting process and electoral college works.

2. Agreed

3. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not support any form of interracial relationship=) So down with Jeb!

4. I'm sure Bush doesn't believe that he is a Civic. Hence me saying he was delusional.

5. I agree that Bush, and most other politicians, are out of touch with the people. Hence me calling attention to his narrow world view.

6. Agreed.
